  • Diana Ross in concert.

    added 20-10-2009

Souldiva No.1 is still alive and kicking it!
She did 2 shows in Gelredome Stadium, with 70.000 people visiting.
We provided screencontent for 17 of her 22 songs… and these screens were big. I mean really BIG. 48 Meters wide and 11 meters high. Rocking old motown stuff and blasting discosoul made up a memorable Symphonica in Rosso 2009.

  • 140 hits in art - first submission

    added 10-03-2010

Record sleeve mania at Addikt’s. Klaas from Dezigner invited us to participate in his 140 hits in art project. He asked 140 artist to create a record sleeve for his or her’s favorite track. So everyone at Addikt got the fever and is making an old fashioned 12”. Here’s the first submission from Szann with Georgia Anne Muldrow in mind. Her track LO MEIN is so silky smooth, mesmerising and fragile. A minimalist sprout came to mind, so delicate…

  • PUMA Suede Road Live - pt.II Antwerp

    added 08-03-2010

For part two of the Puma Suede roadshow we headed to over to Antwerp. The fine people of shop Avenue had the perfect window available for steamfunkin’ band J to the C. Stomping and grinding for two hours, amazing the gathered audience, and, not unimportant, us. Mr JC himself is a walking urban dictionary, talking only in power terms. We like, give up da fonk!

  • Opening new wing Letterkundig Museum

    added 05-03-2010

The Letterkundig Museum in the Hague build a new wing and had it’s official opening by Harry Mulisch.

An empty wing is an ugly thing so it was a good thing Museum studio asked us to create the Pantheon together. The Pantheon is a installation of 100 dead dutch writers on 100 screens. The screens are offset in time to show the chronological bloodline of dutch literary heritage. Seeing is believing so stay tuned for a little movie about this installation in the work section soon.

Harry Mulisch apparently still alive and kicking

  • Dutch olympic winter sporters homecomming

    added 03-03-2010

After training for four years, staying in Vancouver for a month, competing for two weeks, flying for eight hours the Dutch olympic sporters were cheered at on a stage in Haarlem on de grote markt. The organisation made the stage into a giant livingroom and we made cozy content for the LED screens. The market square was packed and although cold the people were having a blast. Impressions of the day in pictureland.

  • PUMA Suede Road Live - Amsterdam kickoff

    added 27-02-2010

It was ON. As part of the PUMA suede road campaign, the first of six different instore concerts was being held in ‘seventyfive’. Grote prijs winners Dret and Krulle took the honors and rocked the nieuwe Hoogstraat for about an hour. Bijlmer and innercity kids joined forces to give back the energy D&K were putting out to the crowd. The fact that it was complete dickshit weather did’nt kill the vibe. Contrary!

But wait much more is on the way. As we follow the forty year PUMA suede heritage, we have still to encounter acid jazz, punk, grunge, reggae and britpop. All those freaks wore suedes? Yeah, intense huh. So put on your PUMA slippers and head on over to Antwerp, Tilburg, Brussels, the Hague and Apeldoorn. We’ll be there, so say hi if you see us filming the show and we’ll pop open a cold one.

Check out www.suederoad.com to stay up to date on PUMA’s suede progress and dates for more gigs, stores and cities.

    added 23-02-2010

After delivering a city brand-movie for the community of Utrecht, ad agency Doorn&Roos took almost every frame of the animation and transformed it to a print campaign dropping it on every street corner they could find. Check the pic, even more were made!

  • Adobe interviewing Addikt

    added 19-02-2010

Szann was interviewed as part of the Adobe switch campaign to discover more about our workflow and what kind of software we use in that workflow. Not surprisingly that involves a whole lot of Adobe programming. The campaign revolves around four (design) masters of which one is Addikt. It has a nice ring to it, master. Master, MASTER, Maaaster (hey Nalden) yeah we like it. Keep checking in for a link to the interview.

More Master Madness on the Adobe Switch site

  • New York fashion week

    added 18-02-2010

Addikt hit the Big Apple this week to participate in the NY fashion week with some LED madness. No not allowed to show you the good stuff but check out the flickr for the good vibe. Nuff to say that we used the same LED setup as Massive Attack’s last world tour.

  • BNO Supervisory board

    added 25-01-2010

As a prospective, our own Mr Schwarz had allready attended a meeting or two of the supervisory board before he was officialy admitted at the last annual meeting of the BNO. In this board he will judge the membership of BNO prospect members on animation. Also they discuss legal cases and disputes between members. Very serious business.

And while he was at it he did a petcha kutcha for the assembled people. Concentrating complex stories to 20 second images. Go speedracer go!

  • Bread and Butter Berlin

    added 15-01-2010

Fashion is hot at Addikt. Alot of that hotness is happening in Berlin at the Bread and Butter. The BB fair was held at former airport Tempelhof which must the the coolest building EVER! Adolf got that one right. There were an insane amount of exhibitors, each one trying to outdo the other, with our LED design goodness outdoing all of them.
NO! Secret! But check out mood images on the imagedump.
Oh yeah and we got to work with Colin Benders from Kyteman again. Superfunny because for both of us the previous project was the UTR’ECHT gig.

  • Adobe usergroup XL

    added 03-12-2009

Bertje H’s magnus opus in full effect: the Adobe Usergroup X fokking L. Haha, he outdid himself this time. Check out the informal backstage lunchtime pic of speakers, being kinda nervous. We did a presentation in the Adobe Switch members only room and we judged the Wacom competion as part of the closing notes. The event was a grand success and the following evening was equally awesome.

  • What the f**k is this??

    added 02-12-2009

    eh…

  • BNN pitched

    added 27-11-2009

Dutch television channel BNN asked Addikt to join a pitch for the new BNN logo, amongst well-known agencies and desingbureaux. We created an uneasy abstract logo because BNN itself is not too easy-going and has always had that reputation.

The day before the pitch, we sent them our design in pieces of concrete, to hype it a little bit. (sorry peeps, camera died so no piccies, shiiiiit)

We sure got their attention but we did not win for being too abstract. It’s all in the game, you win some you loose some.

  • Phantom of the Opera tryout

    added 25-11-2009

Addikt was asked by Stage Entertainment to do research for the world famous musical Phantom of the Opera to come up with a solution to get the show ‘mobile’. Find a way to travel with the event and possibly replace the stage elements of the show with video. We got to see the original Phantom in London and joined the presentation team to present the ideas and ministage with Andrew Loydd Webbers right hand Jonathan. Koen and Jonathan did the presentation to the board of directors of the Really Useful Group. See some pictures we took at the presentation. Koekje erbij?

  • Dubai adventures

    added 25-11-2009

At one moment you are filming rugged urban scenes in rainy Amsterdam and the next you are on a beach in Dubai.

Thanks to Euro 4d and Rabobank we got to follow two winners of the studentenpracticum with our spycam all over Dubai. More skyscrapers than Manhattan, all halve finished. Lunch in the Burj al Arab and dinner in the Buddah Bar. Cripes, can you say luxurious.
A nomad camp in the middle of the dessert, waterpipes and all, finished off the perfect shotgun trip. The day we got back in Amsterdam Dubai filed bankrupcy, eh huh?

  • Heist CD presentation

    added 12-11-2009

Our one and only Bart went on a mission to create the best CD presentation by a band ever. Heist played ten songs of their new album in the Patronaat in Haarlem. Bart made some really nice ‘n moody graphics which were beamed by two big ass beamers provided graciously by XL video (yo Martijn, big up). Everyone at Addikt is very impressed by the foo fighter/radiohead-like tunes they compose and play. Check out more pics hiero.

  • Addikt does keynote at Design Yatra India

    added 01-10-2009

What? Bombay? Mumbai? Addikt? Yes sir, for real! Being invited by conference organisers Kyoorius and the Dutch BNO, Addikt’s Barry and Koen went to India for a week. Because The Netherlands was Partner Country for this conference, the BNO, Dutch DFA and a small selection of agencies (EdenSpiekermann, ...Staat, Lava, Koeweiden Postma) were able to join the Dutch delegation. Design Yatra is the largest design conference in India, where international speakers on product design, graphic design, architercture and communication design were reprasented. Being the only Dutch motion design agency there, we gave a keynote for 1200 people, some workshops and matchmaking with Indian agencies. Crazier then Bollywood, baby!

  • Design battling at joint venture

    added 25-06-2009

Last friday was the last day of Joint venture at pakhuis de Zwijger. Time for the design battle. This was the climax the festival was slowly building up to. A monolitic clash of designer awesomeness anihilating an audi A5 in the process. Tom von Farb, Zender, Hypnoteis, Mark from Shape Squad and last but not least Szann from humble Addikt attended. Shapesquad and Addikt’s possy were well represented with Addikt’s possy making the most racket. Upsetting Bert Hagendoorn as het felt some responsability being the one who invited all the designers. Muhuhahaha. Zender won the battle as he was the only one not to nervous or drunk. Congrats geezer. Bert and Hans from Dzone posted some piccies of the event. Check here and here.

Hey Bart what does this button do?

  • Miss Sunshine: the Amsterdam NY connection

    added 10-06-2009

Has it been 400 years already? Damn, we dutchies stepped ashore Manhattan and build a little settlement. Nu Yawk! This momentous occasion is celebrated this year.
Symbol music made the soundtrack for it. It’s so friendly and summery. The guys asked us to make the cover for the CD. We wanted to do a project together for ages, but never found a good excuse to do so. The cover had to have the same good vibes off course. Girlies, squirrels and central park.
    The good vibe combo!

  • Animations for Nationale-Nederlanden campaign

    added 04-05-2009

Addikt has done the animation film for the new campaign of insurance
company Nationale Nederlanden, starring the Dutch actor and photographer Thom Hoffman. The campaign is for an insurance on incapacity for work. In the internet commercial, a mix of live-action and computer generated images was used. An ideal world was brought to live, were Thom is able to set things right when things start falling down.

Brainstorming our way through the script we came up with the idea of a
toy’s world, where Thom can walk through and have interaction with. After we visualized this, the client was happy and we started building a 3D world with lots of houses, trees, characters, birds and other objects. We’ve put Thom in front of a green screen, and made sure the camera angles were exactly the same as in 3D. After the shoot we have been animating, keying, rendering, compositing and editing. In the mean time we had sound designers create the right sounds. We’re quite proud of the end result .

  • Bert Hagendoorn on board at Addikt

  • Big motion graphics for Sebastian event

    added 01-05-2009

    Sunday 19th of April,

Addikt performed at a big show for hair fashion brand Sebastian, which took place at the Gashouder at the Westergasfabriekterrein in Amsterdam. Hundreds of Dutch hairdressers attended this great fashion show.

After designing the entire stage, Addikt designed all the graphics shown on the LED screens; created from scratch for an overwhelming show, where all specialism’s were combined together for ultimate synergy.

On the screens, 50 meters wide and 8 meters at it’s highest point, different styles and sequences were shown by Addikt’s Big Motion crew – all in line with the music and the performance of the models. After the fashionshow, that took about one hour, DJ’s came on stage and the party started also supported by Addikt graphics.

Check the edit we’ve made of the night.
Also check the live pics on flickr.
